Advanced Diagnostics and Optimal Mitigation

Date: September 8, 2019

Course Details: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday
8 hour CE    
   This will be an 8 hour version of KSU-228, a highly interactive course designed to help radon mitigation professionals develop and strengthen diagnostic techniques as well as build confidence to overcome barriers for successful radon reduction. This course will build on track II technical sessions offered at the last two symposiums which were demonstrations, but doing them in an 8 hour version will enable attendee participation and practice. Anticipated activity stations will include – airflow measurements, blower door HRV sizing measurements, PFE measurements, fan performance measurements, and air pressure demonstration house exercises. Attendees will also be asked to bring challenging diagnostic case studies and any diagnostic tools they want to use/share.

Business Tune-up: Staff Training, Media and Promotions

   This is an 8 hour continuing education course for radon measurement and inspection professionals. The demand for professionals in this content area has been fueled by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) mortgage requirements for multifamily property purchase refinancing, or rehabilitation. The HUD requirements include radon testing of multifamily buildings according to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard on multifamily buildings radon measurement. This course focuses on this standard. This very intense one-day course helps you to prepare for the Multifamily Radon Measurement Advanced Certificate Program with the National Radon Proficiency Program. (To be eligible for the Certificate Program, you need to hold a NRPP basic measurement certification. State licensing is not a substitute)
